A Bold New Look
Recognise that unmistakable facade? That’s none other than Vauxhall‘s emblematic ‘Vizor’- the company’s iconic brand signature, already displayed on the Astra, Mokka, Grandland and Astra Sports Tourer. It now graces the revamped Corsa supermini. The Corsa has undergone a significant aesthetic transformation, exhibiting a sharp divergence from the previous Mk6 design. The new additions include striking 17in alloys with black-effect detailing and that unique shark fin antenna at the rear. LED matrix headlights prevent blinding oncoming traffic, and the model name spans the bootlid width in a modern styling trend.
Boosted Electric Powertrain
The Corsa’s electric variant now features a newly introduced 51kWh battery, an upgrade from the previous 50kWh. Despite the minor increase in battery capacity, Vauxhall claims a substantial 15% leap in range, raising the bar to 255 miles. This applies to the upgraded 154bhp motor. Keen on retaining the existing 134bhp powertrain? Expect maximum range capped at a still impressive 222 miles. The onboard charger boasts of an 11kW AC, promising a full recharge in just over five hours, or seven-and-a-half hours via the standard 7kW from home smart chargers. Fast charging of up to 100kW ensures 10-80% recharging in a mere 30 minutes.
Interior Refurbishment and Tech Upgrades
Inside the Corsa, a rejuvenated cabin houses a larger 10-inch infotainment screen and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster featuring all-new graphics. The steering wheel design receives an upgrade, accompanied by refreshing seat patterns and a spruced-up shifter. For the tech-savvy, wireless phone charging is introduced, paired with Vauxhall’s Connected 3D Navigation system with the potential for over-the-air updates, ensuring cutting-edge software. A voice assistant responds to the command ‘Hey Vauxhall!’ – a fun addition that promises not to get exasperating.
Safety Enhancements
The Vauxhall Corsa offers a comprehensive safety suite, featuring an upgraded high-res panoramic rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and AEB with pedestrian recognition. Since its debut in 1982, over 2.8 million Corsas (including half a million Novas) have found homes in the UK. Even in May 2023, it retains its position as the best-selling car in the UK, demonstrating enduring demand for this versatile supermini.
