It’s the 4th of September 2022. Today marks the day the fearless ‘Driven to Extremes’ team embark on an electrifying 3,600-mile journey from Oslo to Lisbon in only 5 days in the Euro EV Marathon. The team will be manoeuvring the highly-anticipated Kia EV6 ‘Air’, attempting to cover an astounding 15 countries within 120 hours.
Was the team inspired by a superhuman feat? Yes, you guessed it. Their adventure mimics the endurance test completed by Sir Stirling Moss some 70 years ago. However, this time, the challenge is solely powered by electricity, proving that green energy can propel us to unimaginable distances.
The Journey Ahead
Having bid farewell to Kia‘s Norwegian headquarters, the team has their sights set on their first checkpoint – the border with Sweden. This journey will thread the needle through various European countries including Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, Yugoslavia, Monaco, Spain before finally reaching their destination – Portugal. The team aims to complete this marathon-like route with minimal stops – only to charge their EV and change drivers.
The EV of the Future
The Kia EV6 ‘Air’, with its staggering 328-mile range on a single charge, is undoubtedly the perfect choice for the Driven To Extremes team. The car’s spacious cabin and long wheelbase ensure absolute comfort throughout the journey, while its 800V ultra-rapid charging technology minimises lengthy pit stops. What’s more, ‘Kia Charge’, the company’s easy-to-use charging service, ensures easy access to chargers across Europe.
Tracking the Adventure
Keen to follow the journey? The team’s movements can be followed via GPS tracking available on the Max Adventure website. Regular updates including pictures and videos will be posted on their social channels to keep EV enthusiasts around the world engaged and informed.
