The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, the latest electric vehicle demonstrator from Ford Performance, is gearing up to challenge the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb– a trailblazing event that Ford has found success in the past years. This all-new electric goliath follows the record-breaking performance of the SuperVan 4.2 in 2023 at the same Hill Climb.

The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is set to make a significant impact at Pikes Peak, hoping to surpass the records set by its predecessor.
Uniquely Crafted for Extreme Conditions
Dreamed up by the innovative minds at Ford Design and STARD Advanced Research and Development, the Lightning SuperTruck showcases modern aerodynamics and enhanced electric motors for unmatched performance at Pikes Peak’s extreme conditions.
This SuperTruck possesses a powertrain made up of three STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells, producing an astounding output of over 1,600 horsepower for the 102nd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The truck features a complex design consisting of a triple-element front wing, headlight ducts, hood ducts, louvers, front dive-planes, side diffusers, rear diffuser and multi-element rear wing for optimum aerodynamics. Its carbon ceramic brakes, Pirelli P-Zero tyres on magnesium forged wheels, and a custom in-board suspension system further bolster its performance capabilities.
Skilled Hands Behind the Wheel
Driving this exceptional vehicle is none other than Romain Dumas, a seasoned veteran of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and the current overall record holder.
Dumas speaks of his excitement to pilot the Lightning SuperTruck after the successful climb in 2023, “The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck has surpassed my expectations in testing, so we are hoping for some good weather to try and do something very special.”

A Continued Partnership
Following the success of the SuperVan 4.0, STARD remains a crucial partner in the development and construction of the SuperTruck’s powertrain design and controls.
This year, Ford carries a commitment to top the mountain, charging it with a mission to make all their electric vehicles more capable, advanced, and thrilling- as stated by Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance.
Ford’s Legacy at Pikes Peak
Since as far back as 1916, Ford vehicles have been tackling Pikes Peak, beginning with a Model T that surmounted a climb to the 14,115 ft summit in 28 minutes 03 seconds. This year, Ford has its sights set on surpassing its impressive 2023 record set by the SuperVan 4.2, which completed the run in a mere 8 minutes 47.682 seconds.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is set to take place on June 23.
