Groundbreaking Crossover
The Audi activesphere concept is a groundbreaking crossover study that seamlessly integrates an electric drive system, augmented reality technology, and quattro into a luxury coupé that can morph into a pickup. As the fourth installment in Audi’s sphere concept series, the activesphere sets a new standard for elegance, practicality, and off-road capabilities. Its impressive dimensions (4.98 meters long), considerable ground clearance, and large 22-inch wheels make it suitable for both on and off-road travels.

The inception of the activesphere took place in the Audi Design Studio in Malibu, where it received its quick-charging electric drive from Audi’s PPE modular system. This state-of-the-art system provides a range of over 600 km and fast charging times, making it a highly reliable companion for long-distance travels.
Robustness and Elegance
The activesphere’s design strikes a balance between robustness and elegance. It features a dynamic roof arch, large 22-inch wheels, and striking ground clearance, adding to its overall formidable appearance. Despite its robust look, the car boasts variable ground clearance and an electronically controlled quattro all-wheel drive, making it suitable for a wide range of driving conditions. Moreover, the rear architecture houses an active cargo bed for accommodating bulky sports gear and a ski rack integrated into the roof structure.

Minimalist Interior
Inside, the activesphere focuses on ensuring passenger comfort and interactivity. The interior is minimalist, yet highly functional, with seats extended from the high center console and a dashboard that doubles as a soundbar and air vent. The innovative Audi dimensions operating concept integrates physical and virtual realities via mixed reality headsets, facilitating a seamless interaction between passengers and the car by displaying 3D content, interactive elements, route information, and the real environment.
The activesphere utilizes Audi’s PPE drive technology. It’s fitted with electric motors on the front and rear axles, generating a total output of 325 kW and system torque of 720 Newton meters. Its adaptive air suspension with adaptive dampers and fast charging capability thanks to 800-volt technology make it an excellent choice for smooth and efficient rides. Furthermore, the PPE platform allows for the development of diverse high-volume electric vehicles, including SUVs and cars with a flat silhouette. The battery module positioned between the axles accommodates around 100 kWh of energy.

In essence, the Audi activesphere concept is a pioneering vision for premium mobility in the future. It skillfully blends luxury, sustainability, versatility, and advanced technology in a crossover vehicle, demonstrating what the future holds for the automobile industry.
