It seems like we’re another small step closer to the future, as Tesla head honcho Elon Musk reported recently announced that after a software update, Tesla Model S owners would become the owners of what in some areas could effectively be classed as ‘self-drive vehicles’.
The powerful auto-steering function will basically allow drivers to “go between San Francisco and Seattle without the driver doing anything.”
There is some smallprint attached, however. The eerie effect will only initially work on motorways, and owners will need to ensure they have the ‘optional tech’ pack installed on their S.
We can only imagine where this crazy technology will lead. Are the days of the ‘driver’ numbered?
