We all remember one of the most celebrated (and bizarre) toys of the Eighties and Nineties, Stretch Armstrong; a toy that filled children across the land with the confidence that if they were to pull their sibling’s limbs, they too would stretch like this rubberised figure (sorry to my ten-year old sister who suffered a dislocated shoulder).
Once ol’ Armstrong inevitably had lost his signature stretchy-ness and we entered our troublesome teens, we turned our attention to matters like dating, and more importantly the school prom.
Now, the coolest kids in school were the ones with the most impressive lift to the venue. You had a number of options: horse and cart, a nice classic car, a supercar or your dad’s tandem bicycle all being very good choices indeed. But what got the most attention was, of course, the limousine. The limo was the staple car for the coolest of cool kids, and that’s not where the options ended:
