The Croatian company that charted an improbable course, with its roots in a self-converted all-electric BMW to providing the world’s first all-electric hypercar, graces the EV scene with an exclusive, limited-run iteration of their flagship model.
The Journey of Rimac
Mate Rimac, the founder of Rimac Automobili, embarked on a journey often dismissed as impossible. From one man’s vision, Rimac has transformed into a multinational conglomerate of over 2,200 employees across Europe, encompassing Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Energy, besides creating ripples in the EV technology supplier market with Rimac Technology.
The 15th Anniversary Edition
To commemorate the 15-year milestone, Rimac Automobili has launched the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition. Limited to just nine bespoke units, the Anniversary Edition dons a new shade of copper that signifies not only the milestone but also its synergy with electrical energy, given copper’s prevalent use in electrical cables.
Signature Features
Each of the nine units boasts a unique dual-colour alloy wheel design, special 15 Years Anniversary badges, and an exclusive Rimac pattern mimicking a circuit board running the car’s length. The interior harnesses copper anodized switchgear and surfaces, with special ‘2009-2024’ scripts on the armrest.
Under the Bonnet
Taking a deep dive into the technical prowess of the Nevera, the car’s heart lies in its advanced battery system, powertrain, and software. Key to its record-breaking speed, the front and rear powertrains, each consisting of two individual motors, provide power to each wheel. The rear houses a 1MW dual inverter facilitating 900Nm and 450kW per motor. The software controls the powertrain, known as Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring 2, to ensure optimum power and control.
Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition undoubtedly stands tall as a testament to the company’s evolution and innovation. Its rarity coupled with a rich technical prowess positions it as one of the most desirable EVs in the market today. However, its price tag of €2,350,000, restricts its potential customer base.
