The electric hypercar arena witnessed an epic battle recently as the Rimac Nevera outperformed its hybrid counterpart, the Koenigsegg Regera, setting a new 0-400-0km/h record. Celebrating victory by a narrow margin, the electric heavyweight clocked a time of 29.93s, triumphing over Regera’s 31.49s.
Race details revealed the Nevera smashes the 0-60mph barrier in a mere 1.74s, improving upon its previous record of 1.85s. This staggering performance was verified by Dewesoft and RaceLogic, ensuring the credibility of the awe-inspiring feat.

Under the Bonnet
This electrifying feat was performed on standard Michelin Cup 2 R tyres, without any specific track preparation. The 1,888bhp electric powerhouse proved that power isn’t solely the domain of hybrid or combustion-engine vehicles. With its four electric motors, the Rimac Nevera is proof that electric technology can not only compete in the supercar realm but can transcend it.
The Vision Behind the Victory
Mate Rimac, the visionary behind the Croatian electric car manufacturer, expressed his pride and excitement over the monumental victory. He has been driven by an ambition to push the boundaries of what’s possible for electric vehicles, and the Nevera’s latest triumph is a testament to that vision.
Rimac shared his motivation, stating “Growing up I always looked at the cars that made history moving the bar for performance…That is what is driving me from day one – to develop new technology that redefines what is possible. I am proud to say that the car we’ve created can get to 400km/h and back to 0 in less time than it took the McLaren F1 to accelerate up to 350km/h.”

Limited Edition Wonder
The production of the Rimac Nevera will be limited to 150 units, each priced at over £1.7 million. It’s not just the breakneck speeds that makes the Nevera exceptional. This particular model pays homage to Mate Rimac’s electric E30 BMW M3, marking the start of his electrifying journey in the automotive industry.
The astounding success of the Nevera has set a high bar for electric performance cars, proving that electric hypercars are here to stay. With the gauntlet thrown down, all eyes are now on Koenigsegg for its next move.
