Say hello to the Tesla Model S 70D – the forward-thinking American firm’s ‘entry-level’ performance saloon car.
Available as of now, pricing for the all-wheel-drive car starts at around £54,500. For this, you get a luxurious four-door electric car with a 0-60mph time of 5.2 seconds thanks to its 70kWh (329bhp) battery pack. The range on the car is a claimed 250 miles @ 65mph.
Other goodies on the 70D include autopilot-enabled hardware, navigation and blind-spot detection. The silently suave car will benefit from free charging at Tesla’s ever-increase Supercharger facilities which are already becoming a common sight around the UK. What’s more, the government’s £5000 EV grant still applies here.
Surely a dangerously appealing prospect to the hybrid equivalents from the more conventional manufacturers? We’ll have to keep a beady eye on what Tesla does next…
