Renowned for its unique blend of innovation and practicality, Vauxhall strikes again as it introduces the new, all-electric Frontera – their latest step towards completely electrifying their fleet. This article explores the distinctive features of this compact SUV, highlighting its key statistics, and examines its potential impact on the electric vehicle (EV) landscape.

A Global Premiere: The Frontera
In a seismic shift towards sustainable mobility, Vauxhall’s new Frontera is set to make its global debut. By introducing an all-electric variant and a hybrid SUV complete with 48V technology, Vauxhall continue their mission to electrify Britain. James Taylor, Managing Director at Vauxhall, confidently anticipates the Frontera will appeal to both existing Vauxhall enthusiasts and those new to the automotive brand.
Functional Design: The Frontera’s Aesthetics and Interior
The Frontera, with its rugged interpretation of Vauxhall’s signature design, undeniably commands attention. Its LED headlights and striking Griffin emblem demonstrate Vauxhall’s commitment to design excellence, while its compact size sits comfortably between the Mokka and All-New Grandland in Vauxhall’s refreshed SUV line-up.
In the spacious interior, the Pure Panel cockpit showcases a pair of 10-inch widescreens, a newly designed steering wheel and practical features like wireless smartphone connectivity and multiple USB ports. The Frontera also boasts the new patented Intelli-Seats for ultimate long-journey comfort and even offers the option of a roof tent for outdoor enthusiasts.
Power and Performance: The Frontera’s Key Statistics
The Frontera is available in either a hybrid version or as a fully electric model. The hybrid variant pairs a 100hp 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, specifically engineered for hybrid use, with a 21kW electric motor. This combination promises lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions. The electric Frontera, powered by a 113hp motor, can deliver over 186 miles of range, with the “long range” version boasting up to approximately 248 miles.
As the newest member of Vauxhall’s EV family, the Frontera combines sustainability with performance, style and practicality. Offering two powertrain concepts and three trim levels (Design, GS, and Ultimate), Vauxhall’s new SUV presents affordable electric mobility without compromising on innovation. While its full potential will only be revealed with time, the Frontera undoubtedly marks a significant milestone in Vauxhall’s journey towards fully electric mobility.
