Kia Charge continues its growth trajectory in Europe’s EV charging network, with a significant 10% expansion compared to Q2 2024 and a staggering 39% increase from Q2 2023. Kia Charge now boasts access to more than 800,000 AC and DC charging points across 28 European countries, serving its substantial customer base with over 100,000 subscribers.
To date, Kia Charge users have racked up over 2.5 million charging sessions, activated either via their Kia Charge card or the companion Kia Charge app, reinforcing the value of this ‘one-stop’ charging solution.
Matching EV Surge with Charging Infrastructure
Martin Enthofer, Kia Europe’s Director of Customer Experience Strategy and Solutions, emphasised the necessity for parallel growth of EV numbers and charging points. He cited Kia’s efforts to make electric driving more attainable to a broader audience, and highlighted Kia Charge’s role in facilitating and enhancing every journey.
An Integrated Charging Solution for All Needs
Kia Charge is much more than just a charging service. It offers users a seamless charging experience, whether at home, in the workplace or on the go. This includes robust route planning, straightforward account management and payment authentication – all accessed via one platform.
Additionally, subscribers to Kia Charge can use over 4,200 IONITY ultra-fast charging stations and will benefit from Kia’s partnership with IONITY to develop more than 17,000 high-power charging stations along European highways by 2030.
Adds Value with EV Route Planner and Plug & Charge
The Kia EV Route Planner supports Kia Charge, with the vehicle’s navigation system automatically detecting charging stations en route and adding them as waypoints. This ensures that every charging point is readily identifiable when needed.
For even more simplicity, Kia’s Plug & Charge system allows customers to charge their EV just by plugging in the charging cable – no additional app or card authentication is required. Businesses can also benefit from the Kia Charge Business solution, offering centralised management of their EV fleets’ charging needs.
