Well, that didn’t take long, did it? Hot on the heels of Tesla announcing that it will be releasing its all-new electric SUV, the Model X, next year, we hear rumours that Jaguar plans to roll out its own take on the luxury electric SUV by 2017.
According to Autocar, the car will be priced at ÂŁ60,000 – up to ÂŁ25K less than the Model X, but packs a punch in the form of a 300-mile range and styling cues taken from the firm’s C-X75 concept supercar (which recently appeared in the latest James Bond film. Yes – that one…)
This news doesn’t come as much of a shock to us, after Jaguar announced back in September that it was gearing up for the future, with R&D budgets being increased for battery and hybrid technology departments.
Yet another high-end firm seems to have submitted to a future of EV, then. We can’t wait to see the hardware begin to trickle down into more everyday, affordable cars…
