Unveiling the Name
Last year, we shared updates on the promising alliance between Honda and Sony, where a memorandum of understanding was signed to establish a fresh company for manufacturing electric vehicles. The wait is finally over, and the name of this new entity is…AFEELA.
Yasuhide Mizuno, the man at the helm, introduced the world to AFEELA at CES in Las Vegas. Alongside the name, an upgraded version of Sony’s saloon concept, which has been in the spotlight for the past few years, was also presented. However, the specifics about the car weren’t greatly elaborated on.

Instead of the term ‘car’, AFEELA is using a new term: the ‘mobility prototype.’ This reiterates that our future is not just about electric cars but takes into account broader aspects of mobility.
Looking Towards The Future
AFEELA has confirmed that this ‘mobility prototype’ will see the light of day and hit the production lines. Customers can look forward to placing their pre-orders in the first half of 2025. The first deliveries are expected to roll out in Spring 2026, specifically starting with North America.

As for the other intriguing features, like the yoke, we will need to hold our breath a little longer until more details are revealed.
AFEELA’s entry into the EV market signifies a significant leap for Honda and Sony, showcasing a powerful union of automobile expertise and cutting-edge technology. While the specifics are yet to be unveiled, the anticipation surrounding this joint venture sets a high bar for what’s expected from AFEELA.
Here’s to the future of mobility, which is not only going green but is becoming more exciting too. Stay tuned for more updates on AFEELA and the vibrant world of EVs.
