Innovation and Design – A Closer look at the INSTER

The INSTER, making its first mark at the Busan International Mobility Show in Korea, stands out with its sturdy exterior design, spacious cabin, and state-of-the-art technology in a user-friendly SUV package. It draws design inspiration from the petrol-powered CASPER model, famous in Korea and is primed to fill the gap between the conventional A-segment city cars and larger B-segment compact models. This blend presents users with the best of both worlds: seamless manoeuvrability and robust practicality.

The INSTER’s distinctive exterior marries a petite SUV profile with striking wheel arches, unique LED lighting and enhanced ride height. It offers an improved tech experience with a 10.25” digital cluster and a 10.25” infotainment touchscreen, plus a wireless charging dock in the centre console. With all seats able to be folded flat and a second-row seat that splits 50/50 and slides, the INSTER maximises versatility and space.

Uncompromised Performance

In terms of performance, the INSTER is built to impress with a choice between 42kWh and Long Range 49kWh batteries, coupled with an electric motor that delivers either 71.1kW (97PS) or 84.5kW (115PS). This configuration enables the INSTER to offer a category-leading driving range of up to 220 miles* (WLTP) with 15” wheels on a single charge.

Additionally, the INSTER comes with a range of advanced driver assistance systems like the Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor, and Intelligent Speed Assist. These features enhance driving comfort and safety, whether within urban confines or beyond city limits.

Hyundai’s Commitment to Excellence

Ashley Andrew, President of & UK, remarked, “The INSTER is the most compact addition to Hyundai’s electric vehicle family, signifying how big things can come in small packages. Its top-tier capabilities and advanced features are set to redefine what consumers expect from a small EV. The interest it has generated in the UK following its reveal has been overwhelming, and customers appreciate Hyundai’s leading role in electrification. The INSTER roadshow provides an opportunity for the UK public to experience the innovation and appeal that this model brings to the market.”
