Hyundai has pulled back the covers on its 2025 Ioniq 5 N in Korea. This model is set to further consolidate the belief that EVs can indeed offer a genuinely engaging driving experience.
Revolutionary Drift Optimisation Technology
In response to encouraging feedback from customers, the upgraded Ioniq 5 N model now offers a 10-course N Drift Optimiser mode, cementing its position as a car for true driving fans. The feature allows for a more nuanced and graded control of skids, giving drivers the flexibility they need to expertly navigate their vehicle in all conditions, including drift conditions. The Pro Mode, designed for seasoned drifters, promises a test of their drifting acumen.
Software Upgrades Enhancing Driver Experience
Aside from the drift optimisation, Hyundai has made numerous software updates that aim to improve the overall driving experience. The N e-Shift, a simulated eight-speed paddle shift gearbox, has been enhanced, achieving better performance downhill with a function that mimics an internal combustion engine’s braking.
The N e-Shift now features an ‘eco mode’ and a ‘downshift memory’ function that lets drivers pre-select a lower gear, kicking in once the ‘engine speed’ dips to a particular level. The N Launch Control functionality has also been fine-tuned, with the addition of an optional ‘launch control preparation sound,’ even when the simulated engine noise is switched off.
More Exciting Upgrades Forthcoming
These software updates present a marked improvement in the performance of the Ioniq 5 N, but the journey doesn’t stop here. Hyundai has hinted at more updates hitting European shores soon, including intelligent LED headlights, automatic central locking, and a steering wheel that vibrates to alert the driver. The future of electric driving is indeed exciting, thanks to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
