A Groundbreaking Milestone
In a thrilling climax to an audacious adventure, adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey have brought their 10-month, 30,000 km all-electric expedition to a triumphant conclusion by reaching the South Pole. Their unprecedented journey, which began at the frozen Arctic Sea’s 1823 Magnetic North Pole, took them through the vast expanse of North, Central and South America before daringly negotiating the world’s remotest continent, Antarctica.
EV Pioneer Breaks New Ground
The Ramseys’ expedition is the first ever pole-to-pole journey to be completed in an EV, revealing the immense possibilities for electric mobility and inspiring global interest. Traversing challenging off-road terrains, their factory-standard Nissan Ariya, modified solely to accommodate 39-inch BF Goodrich tyres by polar mobility specialists Arctic Trucks, has admirably endured the most extreme conditions.
From Mongol Rally to Pole-to-Pole
The Pole to Pole vision came to life after the couple successfully completed the Mongol Rally in their Nissan LEAF, marking the first time an EV had tackled the 10,000-km challenge. It showed the world the capabilities of EVs and the couple understood the potential impact an epic adventure of this scale could have.
