All-electric Aston Martin RapidE set for production by 2018

-

We brought you news of the stunning concept a few months ago, but we’re extremely happy to hear today that the electric version of Aston Martin’s flagship four-door model – the Rapide, will become a production car within the next 48 months.

Dubbed the RapidE, the car will come as a result of the extended partnership between the firm and Chinese tech giant LeEco – the company already supplying the brains to Faraday Future, amongst others.

Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, said: “Aston Martin are dedicated to developing a range of cars with low emission technologies.  We have been encouraged by the project speed and technical depth shown by Letv in the development of the RapidE concept towards full production. Bringing the RapidE to market by 2018 is an important milestone for both companies. ”

The main question on our lips, though, is when will this car feature in a James Bond film…?
