Poor, poor Volkswagen. Just when they thought the dust might finally be settling after last month’s emissions scandal bombshell was uncovered, one of the world’s biggest Hollywood actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, along with Paramount Pictures, have allegedly secured the rights to make a film about the fiasco.
The film is set to be based on a yet-to-be-written book about the saga, which will come from New York Times journalist Jack Ewing at some point next year.
In “one of the greatest frauds in corporate history”, VW admitted to using ‘defeat devices’ to mask diesel emissions during testing, meaning that millions of cars globally were sold producing up to 40 times the nitrogen oxide legal limit.
