BMW releases slick new colour options for the i3

-

Following the surprising popularity of BMW’s i3, the Munich manufacturer has added new colour schemes for the 2016 range.

BMW has added new colours to keep the i3 up-to-date, especially with the threat of potential rivals arriving over the next few years. A bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone, eh?

The i3 will still be available with just six colour options as BMW are deleting three current colours in order to make room for the newer colours. Gone are Arravani Grey and Andesite Silver which proved to be unpopular while a surprise move has seen the very popular Laurel Grey axed too.

Andesite Silver has been replaced by a similar Platinum Silver while Arravani and Laurel Grey have been replaced by a single colour option, Mineral Grey. Although these are the most conservative colours, these are expected to be the big sellers by BMW as they there throughout the rest of the BMW range.

Fluid Black is the final new colour option available and this may prove to be the top seller with people already commenting on how it makes the i3 look slicker whilst also concealing the permanently black bonnet which some customers do not like.

Half the colour range remains untouched however which is great news for me as Solar Orange remains my favourite colour for the i3. Along with this bright hue, Capparis White and Ionic Silver are still available. However there is no word from BMW yet on whether anymore bright colours will be introduced at a later date. Red might prove to be a popular colour and would be a wise move if BMW want to entice a younger audience to the i3 especially seeing as i3s cannot be personalised.
