Feast your eyes on ‘s latest concept vehicle, the ‘Activesphere’, a segment-defying creation that incorporates the elegance of a luxury crossover and the practicality of a pick-up truck. The fourth and final concept in a remarkable series, the Activesphere is a testament to Audi’s vision for the future of electric vehicles.

Electric Performance

Underpinned by an electric powertrain, the Activesphere boasts twin motors on each axle that provide an impressive output of 435bhp and 531lb ft. These power units work in symphony to propel the vehicle from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds. The car’s 100kWh battery promises a range of up to 372 miles, while its 800V architecture enables charging rates as high as 270kW, allowing for a range boost of 300km in under ten minutes.

A Crossover with a Twist

The Activesphere, equipped with 22-inch off-road wheels and adaptive air suspension, is a four-door crossover-coupe with an edge. Sporting a ground clearance of 208mm, which can be adjusted by 40mm either way, the vehicle can handle various terrains. Its defining feature, however, is its convenience as a part-time pick-up truck. The tailgate folds back to reveal ports for a pair of e-bikes and a motorised bulkhead that can protect the cabin from adverse weather conditions. A ski rack seamlessly integrated into the roof enhances the Activesphere’s appeal as a versatile all-rounder.

Masterful Design

Delicate yet commanding, simple yet sophisticated, the Activesphere’s design philosophy sets it apart. Its dimensions, stretching 4.98 metres in length, 2.07m in width and 1.60m in height, coupled with its expansive 2.97m wheelbase, make it an imposing figure on the road. The customisable light signatures that dance across the vehicle’s micro LEDs provide a hint of the innovative tech that it houses.

Futuristic Cabin

The Activesphere is programmed for Level 4 autonomous driving. As the driver lets go of the wheel, the controls, including the steering wheel, pedals and dashboard, retreat into the floor, leaving behind a spacious cabin filled with augmented reality (AR) graphics. Each occupant receives a set of AR glasses that project relevant information onto the car’s various surfaces. Despite this leap towards digitalisation, key physical controls remain, facilitating a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements.

From its transformative abilities to its ground-breaking tech, the Audi Activesphere is not just a concept, but a glimpse into the future of automotive design and technology. While its launch timeline remains under wraps, it will undoubtedly make waves when its features do make it to production lines.
